New fuel for Team Faren Honda!
Team Faren Honda are happy to announce that we will be fuelled by High5 Nutrition in the Olympic year, giving our athletes the edge, endurance and power required to get the better of their competitors out on the road, on the road to London.
Amongst our team’s strongest riders are Nicole Cooke, current Olympic Champion, Rochelle Gilmore, current Commonwealth Games Champion and five times Giro d’Italia winner, Fabiana Luperini.
Cooke and Gilmore were using High5 nutrition during the Australian summer and gained a huge confidence boost when hearing that High5 were now going to provide their UCI team’s nutrition in Europe throughout the Olympic season.
‘We train so hard and push our bodies to the maximum limit, that maximum limit is a little higher when fueled by High5 nutrition,’ said Gilmore.
Team Faren Honda will focus their 2012 season around the Women’s Olympic Games Road Race on the 29th of July. Whilst Briton’s Cooke & Australia’s Gilmore are very focused on that one race in July, they will also target specific one-day races and World Cups throughout the year. Fabiana Luperini will be aiming for her 6thGiro d’Italia tour win in 2012. “I’ll be relying heavily on my High5 Nutrition during the Giro d’Italia, nutrition is one of the biggest key factors once the race has started” Luperini said.
Other riders on Team Faren Honda are from Mexico, Russia and Switzerland. The team will race in more than 20 countries during the 2012 season.
Nicole Cooke has just won Team Faren Honda’s first UCI race whilst fuelled by High5. Nicole took out the final stage of the EnergieWacht Tour in Holland on Easter Sunday.
We believe that High5 Nutrition is going to make the difference between winning and losing, it’s our secret weapon and we’re delighted to be powered by the most superior nutritional products on the market! If you want an edge, check out these products; www.highfive.co.uk
Update on team Faren Honda’s win and future plans;
Nicole Cooke has scored a superb stage victory at the EnergieWacht Tour in Holland on Easter Sunday, for the Faren Honda Team.
Sunday’s win came exactly five years to the day since Nicole won the Tour of Flanders in 2007.
The team’s ambitions on Sunday morning were clear, we wanted Nicole Cooke in a break-away group, and we wanted it to succeed. Nicole was ready to win, once she decides it’s time, nothing will stop her; she embraced the pressure, took on the responsibility and made it happen with a strong attack 1km from the finish. Nicole held off the small break-away group to cross the line solo for her first UCI win for 2012.
Whilst a number of Team Faren Honda’s riders are aiming for a mid-season peak for the Olympic Games, the team is on a high and starting to hit some top form leading into the next heavy block of racing!
Team Faren Honda’s next big race will be the Flećhe Wallone World Cup in 8 days time, in Belgium. Fabiana Luperini (ITA) and Nicole Cooke (GBR) will be the team’s lead riders, supported by; Myfanwy Galloway (AUS), Giuseppina Grassi (MEX), Chiara Nadalutti (ITA) and Elena Utrobina RUS). The team will then participate in the following UCI races with a new selection of riders before heading to China, Canada and the USA:
Borsele, Holland 21st of April
Roeselare, Belgium 22nd of April
Liberazione, Italy 25thof April
Elsy Jacobs, Luxembourg 27th – 29th of April
I’m personally feeling fit, healthy and excited about the next racing block. I’ve had a relaxed start to the season due to my plan and ambition to peak around May, and again at the end of July. I’m looking forward to finally freshening up a little leading into Borsele and Roeselare.
It feels like the season has just been kick started for Team Faren Honda…. We’re all feeling very proud and motivated!
