Rochelle Gilmore wins Honda Insight Women’s GP Series

Commonwealth Games gold medallist, reigning Cronulla GP champion and Honda Dream Team leader, Rochelle Gilmore has won the final race in the Honda Insight Women’s International GP Series, taking the overall series title for the second year.

Gilmore said the support of her teammates throughout the series made the win possible.

“All credit to the Honda Dream Team. They rode a great race today, it was a real team effort. I’m just so proud of them and the way they’ve handled themselves throughout this series.”

Honda Team on Dream Streak

The Honda Dream Team has continued its brilliant form, winning four from four races in the Honda Insight Women’s International GP Series, after Mel Hoskins crossed the line first in Coogee today.

Hoskins said she was comfortable on the surface and very happy with the result.

“We’ve got four from four now, I don’t think you could ask for a better result. Today we tried something different, it wasn’t as much of a sprint finish. I made a move, got the break and came off with good legs.” she said.

Peta Mullens Wins Stage Three

Honda Dream Team member, Peta Mullens won tonight’s third stage of the Honda Insight Women’s International Grand Prix Series, after fellow teammate Rochelle Gilmore was disqualified.

Gilmore’s disqualification followed a heavy fall by Russian, Evgenia Romanuta in the sprint to the finish line.

“I was pleased with the win tonight,” Mullens said. “The Honda Dream Team rode a good race but it was disappointing that it ended the way it did after the fall.”

Gilmore’s Insight Wins Stages One and Two

Reigning Cronulla Grand Prix champion and Honda Dream Team Leader, Rochelle Gilmore has continued her excellent form, winning the second stage of the Honda Insight Women’s International Grand Prix Series in Parramatta tonight.

Gilmore said she held off a strong challenge from Russian star, Evgenia Romanuta in the last lap to take the win.

“She was coming very fast up the hill to the finish and I think I was a little bit under-geared so I had to really spin the pedals right to the line. I know she’s going to get closer and closer every day but I have the support of the Honda Dream Team behind me.” she said.

Honda wins Bathurst

Commonwealth Games gold medallist and Honda Dream Team Leader, Rochelle Gilmore has beaten strong international competition to win the first race of the Honda Insight Women’s International Grand Prix Series in Bathurst.

Gilmore said she was thrilled with her performance and the support of the Honda Dream Team which led her to victory.
