I knew it. These were the first words that entered my mind when I saw that Emily Collins had won a UCI race and taken the first UCI win of her career and the first UCI win in history for Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling.

Emily Collins might have been unknown to the peloton but her ability was very clear to me from the moment she caught my eye at the end of last year in Europe.

At the end of last year, Emily had come to Europe from the States to prepare for the World Championships, she had been selected by the New Zealand cycling federation to compete at her first World Championship.

January Motivation

What do I feel? The first thing I feel is strong and determined. Whilst I’ve lost a lot of aggression over the years on the bike, I do feel very aggressive and ambitious in life. I work so hard to achieve my goals and never give up on anything or anyone. That’s exactly what I see in that picture. I feel…. “Ahhhh ‘it’s 2013, let’s do this!”

2013 has been amazing so far, I’m blessed. People say I’m lucky and that comment makes me smile. Anyone around me will tell you it’s not luck. I have a goal, a plan and a strategy for everything and I believe in it, then I make it happen.

AGF Share the Road Tour

Rochelle Gilmore to ride from Adelaide to Melbourne in support of the Amy Gillett Foundation

 

On Monday the 3rd of December, Rochelle Gilmore will start the 1043km journey from Adelaide to Melbourne in support of the Amy Gillett Foundation’s Share the Road Tour.

Since its first edition in 2009, the Share the Road tour has raised over $700,000 to assist the Amy Gillett Foundation work towards its mission of safe cycling in Australia and vision for zero bike-related fatalities.

London Bound For Charity

Rowsell and Gilmore join cycling’s biggest names to raise money for charity
 

DTPC Honda Pro Cycling’s Olympic Champion Joanna Rowsell and Commonwealth Games Gold medalist Rochelle Gilmore will join a star-studded line up to raise money for the children’s charity Action Medical Research at its third annual Champions of CycleSport dinner in London on Thursday 22nd November.

Rowsell and Gilmore will be joined by some of cycling’s biggest champions in Chris Boardman MBE, Dave Brailsford CBE, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke and Jody Cundy at an event which last year raised £100,000 to help sick babies, children with disabilities and those suffering from a rare disease.

NEW WOMEN’S UCI CYCLING TEAM FOR 2013

Dream Team Professional Cycling (DTPC) is pleased to be able to unveil the British registered DTPC Honda Pro Cycling’s roster for 2013.

Headlined by the Italian two-time World Road Race Champion Giorgia Bronzini, the DTPC Honda Pro Cycling team looks to focus on wins in the classics and sprint style races on the UCI calendar.

Racing alongside Bronzini will be Britain’s strongest cycling talents in Olympic Champions Joanna Rowsell, Laura Trott and Danielle King in addition to recently crowned Junior World Individual Time Trial Champion Elinor Barker and youngster Amy Roberts. Each of these riders will be looking to make their breakthrough win in Europe as they transition into the elite women’s international road cycling scene.
