Honda Dream Team wins all at Jayco Bay Classic
The Honda Dream Team has taken a clean sweep at this year’s Bay Cycling Classic, with reigning champion, Rochelle Gilmore winning the overall title and the team also winning the sprinters and teams classifications.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist and leader of the Honda Dream Team, Gilmore won the overall Bay Classic title for the third time after taking two of the four stages.
“I’m so proud of the Honda Dream Team. Everything just comes together with these girls, we’re a really tight unit. It’s a great feeling to have achieved everything here, the yellow jersey, the sprint jersey and the teams classification.”

Gilmore and Goss take 2011 Jayco Bay Series Titles
Rochelle Gilmore defended her title and Matthew Goss joined an illustrious list of riders on the winners’ honour roll after the 2011 Jayco Bay Classic series decider in Williamstown today.
Whilst Gilmore’s win was straightforward following her series dominance, the win of Goss was hard fought, winning the stage by virtue of a sprint of the highest quality.
World championships bronze medallist Allan Davis and world under 23 road champion Michael Matthews finished second and third on the stage, with Matthews, who held the overnight lead, denied the chance to become the youngest ever winning of the series – by less than the width a wheel.

Honda team race to one, two
Tiffany Cromwell of the Honda Dream Team won the second round of the Bay Cycling Classic in Portarlington today, securing first and second position overall for the Honda team.
Cromwell took the win on the challenging Portarlington circuit after extending her lead from a breakaway early in the race.
“It’s been a nice confidence boost to take the win today, the first of 2011, it feels really good. I enjoyed the course. It’s technical, it’s hard, there are climbs, it suits me and the girls gave me the opportunity today to go for it so I did and was happy I could pull it off for the team,” Cromwell said.

Gilmore all but wraps up women’s title; men’s race still wide open
Defending Jayco Bay Classic champion Rochelle Gilmore all but wrapped up the women’s title after scoring her an impressive win, her second of the series, in the Geelong criterium tonight.
And in a fascinating men’s stage, Tasmania’s Sulzberger brothers produced classic team cycling tactics to overcome the threat from super sprinters Greg Henderson and Baden Cooke. After alternate attacks softened the legs of their rivals it was Bernie Sulzberger who prevailed over Henderson in a photo finish. Brother Wes took the third podium spot after Cooke suffered a mechanical failure with two laps remaining.

Honda Dream Team grabs three from three
Gilmore wins round 3
Commonwealth Games gold medallist and reigning Bay Classic champion, Rochelle Gilmore has notched up her second win of the Bay Series in round three today, securing the 2011 title with one round remaining.
The Honda Dream Team worked hard throughout the race to ensure Gilmore was in pole position to take the win.
